CHESTNUT TRIUMPHS IN HOOTERS WORLDWIDE WING EATING CHAMPIONSHIP!

And the world keeps turning. Another Championship event. Another title on the line. Another big prize purse up for grabs. And who but The One, Jaws, The Greatest Eater Who Has Ever Lived, Him for the win. Ladies and gentlemen, with 182 Hooters chicken wings in 10 minutes, and still the reigning Hooters Worldwide Wing Eating Champion of your planet and ours, let us hear it for Joey Chestnut!

He came. He ate. He conquered. QED. ’Nuff said. Joey Chestnut again proved that he is a five-tool eater, able to bring the hammer down on technique-based disciplines, such as chicken wings, as heavily as he does speed and capacity ones. The Hooters wings never stood a chance. He ripped and tore at the wings with surgical precision, his every move and twist and grab and bite an expression of his one goal: Win at all costs.

Chestnut faced his nemesis Matt Stonie for the first time in the wing discipline at this event. Stonie was fast—no surprise there—but could not match the poultry sage Chestnut for technique. Stonie would finish third, a great result on debut. No surprise either that Adrian Morgan came in second with 174 wings. The Rabbit is a wing specialist, his powerful forearms the perfect engine for his supreme hand speed.

Rounding out the money positions, Juliet Lee impressed to finish fourth, edging youthful upstarts Miki Sudo (fifth) and Michelle Lesco (sixth). Marcos Owens came seventh, with 140 Hooters wings in 10 minutes. Full and complete results are below.

The Hooters Worldwide Wing Eating Championship 2014 will be remembered deep into the future. The best eaters in the world came poolside to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV, to compete for an unprecedented prize purse of $17,500. And compete they did. But only one could win. And his name you know very, very well.

The Championship event was a primer for Hooters’ National Chicken Wing Day Feast, to be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. On this day, Hooters challenges Americans to consume more than 2 million wings during its all-you-can-eat feast. Don't you ever miss it!
