The Rhythm City World Catfish Eating Championship

Just two days after eating 12.5 corned beef sandwiches in Florida, Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti trekked to Davenport, Iowa to win The Rhythm City World Caftish Eating Championship! The world's #2-ranked eater ate 7.5 lbs of fried catfish in 10 minutes to take home the $1,000 first-place prize in addition to breaking Sonya Thomas' record of 6.5 lbs set in 2010. The world record marked #31 for Bertoletti - more than any eater in history.

Finishing in second place was Philly's Sean "Flash" Gordon with 6.16 lbs, narrowly edging out Chicago's other resident eater Gravy Brown who ate an even 6 lbs for third place.

Boston's Pete "Pretty Boy" Davekos, who arrived a few days early into Davenport for a media tour, ate 5.5. lbs to take home fourth place and $250.

Dubuque native and upstart MLE rookie Aaron "A-Train" Ostfhoff, just missed a cash payout, finishing in 5th place with 5 lbs.

The event was the second annual World Catfish-Eating Championship hosted by Rhythm City Casino, an Isle of Casino property.
